Michael is a realtor with 36 years of experience. East Bay born and raised, Michael knows the region better than anyone; from Berkeley to Livermore, Walnut Creek to Danville, San Jose to Fremont and Oakland, and all the little communities scattered in-between. He knows the schools, and the shopping districts, the parks, and open spaces, the rapid transit routes, and freeway on-ramps. He knows the property values and the market. But more importantly, he knows the character of each town and neighborhood and what the people living there are like.
It makes sense to promote your business and market your brand to try to gain clients. However, providing clients with the best service should always be prioritized. Read Michaels’s story to see how his professionalism with previous clients helped him gain new clients.

The Story of Michael Tessaro
“This referral came from a long time client. Actually the original referral was from this client’s mother who used to be in Real Estate and when my business partner moved to Palo Alto I inherited her as my client. The mother bought and sold at least 10 homes with me and when her son moved back to the US he had me rehabilitate their home from the ground up. Once here and after living in that home for a few months they quickly discovered they needed more space so we went and found them a new home twice as large as the home I redid. The home I redid became a rental and they bought additional rentals.
Then this family knew the person who I was referred to in the posted quote and highly recommended me to this seller. This was the home he and his siblings grew up in and he was also the person who was in charge of the father who had to move to a rest home in order for us to sell that home. Unfortunately, that seller died 10 days after he was moved and without a Trust so the property had to go through probate.
What isn’t mentioned here is for his dad to move they needed money but all the money was tied up in the equity of this family home so I arranged for my partner to lend them $100,000 for up to six months; it had to be extended since the father died and we had to go to probate but while waiting for the courts the house increased another $200,000 without doing anything to the home and eventually once we got court approval I was able to get the house cleaned out of all the 56 plus years of stuff including 3 sheds in the yard and have some cleanup and painting done.
The house SOLD with 11 offers for almost $1,900,000. Again, this man was living in Washington state and had to make many trips here but much of the transaction was handled by phone, text, email, and DocuSign. The mother who initially referred me to this seller also knew that mother so with two people he knew for over 55 years he knew I was the right agent to sell his family home.”
Takeaway
Real estate is a competitive market. Real estate agents need to go through some extensive real estate marketing to promote their business and generate leads. However, one of the best ways to get clients is a referral. Your satisfied clients will be more than happy to introduce you to their friends and family. It goes to show how important it is to do your best and prioritize your clients’ individual needs. Later, they will gladly introduce you to their friends.
