Location

It covered much of the present day neighbourhood of the Upper Beaches, stretching up to Danforth Avenue in the north, part of it stretching to Lake Ontario in the south a portion of the present-day neighbourhood, The Beaches. The central street in East Toronto was Main Street, running between Danforth Avenue to Kingston Road. The commercial center of the town was located at the intersection of Main Street and Lake View Avenue (present-day Gerrard Street).

Little India

Little India is home to the Gerrard India Bazaar, North America’s largest South Asian ethnic market. Come people-watch while you soak up the sun. Or work up a sweat along the paths or at one of the area’s many beach volleyball courts. Cool off in Lake Ontario or at the free-entry Donald D. Summerville Olympic Pool, before taking a few minutes to stroll along Queen Street East.

Leslieville

Historically Toronto’s “Film District,” the streets of this east end neighbourhood are populated by quaint shops, including a number of vintage furniture stores. Once a well-kept secret of local set designers, Leslieville is the perfect place to find that Danish teak side table or rustic piece for your home.
