Albion Islington Square.
Albion Islington Square is a unique shopping district that is home to Toronto’s highest concentration of jewelers who specialize in 22- and 24-karat gold and diamond designer jewelry. It is a vibrant commercial strip on Albion Road and Islington Avenue. In a relatively short distance, one samples the great variety indicative of Toronto’s urban fabric: a wide range of clothing & textile shops, featuring traditional, casual and exquisite hand-embroidered apparel, neighborhood grocery stores.
BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir
The fusion of traditional Indian architecture with modern technology has attracted people from all walks of life; including students on field trips, accomplished architects and engineers and visitors from all over the world who come to enjoy the experience. All visitors have been awestruck by the unique architecture and the detailed intricacy of the carvings. The Mandir is a masterpiece of intricate design and workmanship of ancient Indian arts, traditions and philosophy.
Humber Bay Park
The park has a number of amenities such as picnic tables, trails, and a beach front. There are fly casting and model boating ponds and a fully accessible fishing pier. The Humber Bay Park Boating Federation and historic old Eastern Gap Lighthouse (c. 1895) are located at Humber Bay West, along with public boat launch ramps and moorings. Humber Bay Park East is home to Toronto's memorial to the victims of the bombing of Air India Flight 182.
Centennial Park Conservatory
It consists of three greenhouses and 12,000 square feet (1,100 m2) of plants including a cactus house, a tropical house, and a show house that features seasonal displays. It is located in Centennial Park, in the former City of Etobicoke. This conservatory is cared for by Toronto Parks who also run Allan Gardens. Admission is free.
Transportation
Several major expressways, like 427, 401, 407, 27 and Gardiner Expressway, are routed through the area, making it ideal for automobile-based transportation. There are numerous four- and six-lane thoroughfares in Etobicoke, laid out in a grid system. Many exceptions to Toronto's gridded street matrix are found in Etobicoke.
