A new LendingTree study revealed how much and in which areas Americans are paying the highest and lowest property taxes. Birmingham, AL has the lowest median property taxes, at $995/year, while residents in New York, San Jose, and San Francisco pay the most, with median amounts of $9,091, $8,858, and $7,335 respectively. Property taxes have increased in each of the nation's 50 largest metros since 2019, with the most significant increase of 18% in Tampa, FL.
