Ottawa housing market: What's the latest?
In March, Ottawa Real Estate Board (OREB) reported a 17% decrease in home prices compared to the same time last year. However, there was a 0.2% increase in prices from the previous month. OREB President Ken Dekker believes that the market is stabilizing with affordable prices due to the current interest rate structure. There were 1,194 residential transactions and 2,089 new listings in March, both down from last year but up from the previous month. Dekker believes that as the spring unfolds, a clearer picture of the balanced market state will emerge.
